Spaghetti Aglio e Olio (Garlic and Oil Pasta)


  • 1 pound spaghetti

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  • 6 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving


  1. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente.

  2. While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  3. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic is lightly golden.

  4. When the spaghetti is cooked, drain it and add it to the skillet with the garlic and oil. Toss to coat the spaghetti with the oil.

  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  6. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
